Travel To Shanghai

Travel to Shanghai in China is full of interesting culture, architecture, history, and tradition and makes for a vacation trip that is not easily forgotten. This city is among the world's largest metropolitan areas and is China's most populated city with more than 13 million residents. It is a popular destination for vacationers from both at home in China and from abroad. People travel here not so much for the scenic beauty as for the business activity. Whether a person is traveling to Shanghai for business or pleasure, they should take every opportunity to enjoy the beauty and culture of this land that was created by God. "Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice." (Philippians 4:4)

Being open to foreigners, Shanghai features many tourist attractions. Anyone that chooses to travel to Shanghai will not want to miss Nanjing Road. Almost three and a half miles long, Nanjing Road features over 600 businesses from McDonald's and Pizza Hut to Tiffany and Mont Blanc. A tourist can also pick up silk, jade, or embroidered mementos of this travel experience from one of the many traditional Chinese stores that line this street. Located in People's Square in the center of Shanghai is the Shanghai Museum. Here a tourist can see Chinese art in bronze, ceramics, paintings, calligraphy, sculpture, and jade, as well as rare coin and furniture collections. The museum welcomes those who travel to see for themselves the philosophy of Chinese wisdom that is captured in artistic expression.

Tourists must be sure to visit the famous Jade Buddha Temple in the western part of the city. Although not exactly ancient (the new building was constructed in 1928), the architecture as well as the history surrounding the two Buddhist statues lends a bit of Chinese culture to the otherwise modern city of Shanghai. Other tourist attractions include Yuyan Garden, the Site of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and the Oriental Pearl TV Tower. The best seasons for a trip to Shanghai and to visit the many great sites are spring and autumn. A person will find moderate climates then. Naturally, before a person begins their travel to Shanghai, they will want to check the weather forecast and plan wardrobe options accordingly. Also, it is important to be aware that the best seasons to visit are also the most crowded.

Although some travelers like the flexibility and adventure of planning their own trips, many prefer booking through travel agents or tour companies. A prearranged tour eliminates the hassle of finding and securing reasonable accommodations, meals, sightseeing tours, and transportation. Given the potential cultural and language obstacles of traveling to a foreign country, many people prefer to let others who frequently travel to Shanghai take care of the details.
